Road Work Necklace - Greywacke, paint - $750 Tim Royall"The object of these pieces was to capture little vignettes or impressions of my new home, New Zealand. I sought to capture shapes, patterns and textures that I see and connect with in nature and combine them into cohesive multi-element pieces.
'Homage' - British Columbian Nephrite Jade, Sterling silver and ribbon ![]() 'Five Finger' - Grey Argillite, Nelson region, Sterling silver and ribbon
'Dark water' - Serpentine, Haast Region, Sterling silver and ribbon Rob Upritchard"New Zealand's beautiful outdoor environment and unique culture are major influences on my work. My practice is a conversation between nature and human experience. Seeing the quality and beauty of New Zealand stone (kohatu) it was inevitable for me that it would become a major part of my practice as a sculptor. I aim to emphasizes the natural beauty of stone while re-positioning it, with minimal interference, into a human environment. I love the basic forms that nature creates and find immense satisfaction in working these into jewelery."
