Born in 1957 in New Zealand, Neil Adcock graduated from the Wellington School of Design in 1979. He exhibited some of his early works the National Art Gallery in Wellington and spent many years as a creative director in advertising.
Neil is a self-taught jeweller and sculptor, designing and creating bold, strong, singular, contemporary work. He likes to use materials unique to New Zealand such as Pounamu, NZ Amber, Kauri Gum, gem stones and South Island gold, melding these natural treasures to make his own unique style of jewellery.
The New Zealand Amber Neil uses is extremely rare, found by chance at a depth of 150 metres underground in 2014 and Neil is the only person in the world working with it. It has been certified by the Gemnological Institute of America as genuine amber with an estimated age of 75 million years and has a natural phosphorescence which causes its colour to change as it's moved.

This exquisitely rare New Zealand Amber was only recently discovered, found by chance far underground at a depth of 150 metres in 2014. Formed in the Cretaceous and Tertiary Period 30 to 70 million years ago, it was certified in 2016 by the Gemological Institute of America as Amber.
